I never had one but one of my best friends had a serious tree house that you could live in. It had a built in bunk beds and desk, a wrap around porch with two doors to the inside, and a third door inside that had a latter that led up to the roof. Oh, and the floor was vinyl inside.

No, I've never had a tree house because, as you said yourself, they aren't very common over here. Heck, I doubt more than ten persons have one...
We had a few actually, did the whole "Our Gang" set up. Put on shows for the neighborhood and all that cool stuff. But nowadays...it's getting so you can't even ride your bike down the street without fear of some clown mowing you down. I miss the "Good Old Days" \m/
