The President’s Michael Dukakis Moment

President Barack Obama throws a football on the field at Soldier
Field following the NATO working dinner in Chicago, Illinois, May 20,
2012.

So is he alone or just showing off in front of the NATO military leaders?

Kind of like another famous moment in democratic politics photo opportunity history!

Image Credit(s): AP | White House Photo by Pete Souza

Upon further inspection of the photo of the 44th President throwing the ball, his eyes appear to be focused on an end zone "jumbotron" display ... is this possible - Barack unable to take his eyes off of himself?

Kind of adds to the jump the shark moment.

This talking point has already been served. What ever happened to creativity of thought with the Control-Freak progressive mindset?

George Bush actually was a military-trained ... wait for it ... PILOT! Yes, he could legally and legitimately fly the plane he landed on that aircraft carrier.

Barack Obama was elected President but he was never a professional athlete - shark, JUMPED.

Again, your reference and photos are soooo 2003.

The graphics are exactly what I said they were- photo ops at their worst.

Actually, Bush couldn't fly the miltary plane- W Bush WAS suspended from flying on August 1st, 1972. A written order was written, dated August 1st and passed up the chain of command.

Bush - still a pilot (from your referenced article: In fact, Bush [] flew with the 111th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron at Ellington Field in Houston from June 1970 until April 1972 - he flew ... as a PILOT).

Obama - still a failure as anything but a socialist, divisive, ideal-based leader.

The economy is a fail. Transparency is a fail. Deficit and debt are a fail (nearly 6 Trillion in less than 4 years). Job creation is a fail (the longest run of OVER 8% unemployment in the nation's history), The nation's credit rating is a fail - first EVER downgrade of the confidence that the U.S. will honor its debts. And, of course there's more - much more.

My judged failure by you pales by comparison to the failures of the President you support - says more about YOU, and your thought processes, than it says about ME!

I never came out in support of #43 Bush - last I looked, he is not on anyone's ballot for 2012.
  • ally Edmund ... 2012/05/21 23:46:56

He license was still suspended which is what I brought out. So his little photo in the jump suit is a fail.

All that you have mentioned is because of the GOTP obstructionists, who from the time of Obama winning, has had one thing on their minds- Obama a one term POTUS. Using filibusters to get their job done. Put the blame where it belongs.

Your character is quite transparent- you would rather side with a corporatist party who's hate for Obama is greater than that of creating jobs, HC and improving peoples' lives in this country. Typical con.

Bush is a man that Obama wouldn't never be. Bush has culture, he is refined, he was a business owner, a gonvernor and not merely a community aggitator.

Do you have any proof that Bush's pilot license was "suspended"? You like to spew rumors, like CBS Dan Rather but you don't even know how USAF pilots are certified!

Obama received the most contributions from wall st and corporations than any other president in the history. Let me name a few for you, GE, JP Morgan, Goldman, British Petroleum, Fanni and Freddie, AARP, Blue Cross, Blue Shield, the big 3 pharma, GM, Chrysler, hedge funds, CITI Bank, Sylondra, Beacon, other green energy that sucks tax payers money then give to Obama...

Why don't you look it up so you'll have some credibility and don't just recite Dem talking points???

What a joke.Culture? Refined? He was not a business owner, daddy was. He was a governor and a poor at that, just ask a Texan.

Unlike you, I do my research. I just don't take my talking points from Fox news.

Are you really this dumb or do you just play like you are? I see that you don't read, either. I gave you my proof- and just like a con, you refuse to accept the truth. You have no idea what it takes to get a USAF pilot's license, do you?!

I served, I got my wings, and you?

You can't stand it because Oblamer couldn't even produced a real selective service card. Several times, he nearly took out his own eye when he was returning a salute after exiting Marine1. But he is the

You got your wings?Oh really. Did you also take your flight exam- something that is a requirement for all pilots to keep their license? Well, Bush refused to do so. For one- he refused a direct order from his commanding officer to comply. The second reason why he refused is very apparent- he would have been sent to Viet Nam!

You say all this about Obama. But here's just a short list of his accomplishments: He kept us from going into Depression- Bush put us in this recession. Obama inherited 2 wars and $4T in debt because of this. He saved the auto industry and thousands of jobs. He's set up Pell grants for higher education, more money to infrastructure- which creates both public and private jobs. Enacted the Lily Ledbetter Law for equal pay for women, his stance on all women having the right to birth control. His Gay Marriage stance and overturned DODT. Along with better medical, housing and pay for all veterans. But his military actions will be his shining ones-using drones instead of putting our troops in harms way and giving the order to kill Osama Bin Laden- something Bush refused to do his own words- Bush on Osama Bin Laden

Oh, I will have fun in November- watching all you Romney people burn. I have one parting word - BAIN.

President Obama jumped the shark when he took full credit for killing Osama, dissing the Seals who were the ones. All Obama said was go ahead and do it.

With that said, Obama definitely took full advantage of what media calls a photo-op. He's "throwing" a football (American sport) at an American stadium.

What gets mt goat is he does this right at the spot that NATO emblem has been painted on the field.
Obama is trying to show dominance over NATO. Trying to show the World and Americans he is a "Military Leader".

    PHOTO-OP that has failed.

Um, there's already a picture of Dukakis up there? And in 2007, my small business was almost over, we almost quit it was so bad. When we ask ourselves if life is better now than it was during the years of the Bush presidency, the answer is a resounding yes. And that is the reality of 2012 (regardless of the Dukakis photo - where on earth did they dig that up?!)
