metaphoricly yes. Slavery was, and is, a subtle means of sucking the life from someone.

I read the book but haven't seen the movie. Dry, but an intresting use of a historical person.

No.......I'm afraid only in 2012, though he did reference sucking little vampires who plagued his presidency for appointments when he opined that there were not....."enough tits for the pigs."

Abraham Lincoln murdered 625,000 Americans to keep the union together, but those Americans weren't vampires.

No. President Abraham Lincoln did not slay vampires.
However, IMVHO, this idea made a good Summer movie.

He just jailed newspaper writers, editors and executives who didn't support the war, suspended habeas corpus, wanted to ship all blacks to colonies on the other side of the Atlantic so they wouldn't be in the USA, supported a ban of black people within the state of Illinois while he was a representative in the Illinois state legislature, and only supported abolition for future states and not the ones currently engaging in slavery because he wanted the new territories to be open for the white race.

Short history lesson for you there.

He also sent assasins to the border states to quell sucession speech, he sent a patrol to assasinsate President Jefferson Davis, he invaded an independent nation who just wanted to be left alone, he murdered non-combatents (old men, women, and children) behind enemy lines, and he murdered 625,000 Americans to keep the union together bringing the Southern states back to the Land of the Free at gunpoint.

Lincoln gave the orders for the war crimes; Lincoln was a war criminal. I agree on your assessment. Lincoln destroyed the sovereign Confederate States and he destroyed the United States as a Republic.

You are from Ohio, a union state. But you understand. You didn't learn that in the government school. You must be a history buff.

I live in Ohio, I'm not really "from" Ohio. Most of that I did not learn in government school, no, but it always confused the hell out of me when they would talk about Sherman's "March to the Sea" like it was a mere factoid and then would move on.
  • Wolfman TheCouc... 2012/07/16 04:20:52
    Wolfman
Not many people have the intelligence to look beyond that factoid. Sherman murdered old men, women, children and destroyed millions of dollars in property. It was on Honest Abe's specific orders.
