I believe they're children's leashes and yes I have used one because my youngest is faster than I am and I didn't want him to go jumping in the lake, the river or getting lost in the department store. I didn't care how many people gave me dirty looks, better safe than sorry. Anyway, now he's older I don't need it anymore.

I never believed in leashes for children and used to think badly when we saw mothers using them. But I had one three year old grandson whose mother warned us that he was quick and would run away. Well he did on a really busy summer day on a pier. Just slipped away. We went to the guard area and luckily two women were bringing him in to the guards at the opening. I would have had to move to Bora Bora if he really was lost.

With some kids? Yes. A two year old can go from 0 to 60 in a nanosecond. Right into traffic or any other number of dangerous or destructive situations.

Make your kids behave and you won't have to use a leash..I could take my kids anywhere..at any age and I did not have to worry about them getting very far from me!

Yes, in a store, in a crowded area. My son & wife use it on my grand daughter and she actually likes it. She's two and won't stay, now she can walk free (sort of) and not be encased in a stroller (which runs people over) or held in parents arms. Nothing wrong with it in my humble opinion. :)

No. Something about it just seems really wrong. I can give you a long list of reasons, but none of them match exactly what I feel. I just can't put it into words.

I wouldn't. Unless you have a kid that is a habitual runner.

Depends on the kid. I can see putting a leash on a hyperactive two year old when going out in public.

when the sons were young and excessively mobile, we sure did! the kids survived long enough to become adults, so i think we chose wisely!
