Could somebody explain what a Hipster is?

I've looked in the Urban dictionary I live in Britain we don't have anything close. I didn't get the explanation. Is there a film or something worth reading for me to get it, I need some examples??

Originally it meant to designate a person that was 'hip' or cool, with it, etc. It's also a term for the female pants that fit low on the hips. There may be other definitions that I don't know of, sweet friend.
