When you outspend your opponent about 100:1 and are funded mostly by out of state organizations including but not limited to the Koch Brothers and Karl Rove, do you really think the best interest of Wisconsin and the US is being represented. And if the Democrat wins in the senate, they will be able to slow down the destruction of everything working people have worked 200 years to accomplish. Stupid Republicans and Tea Party members are destroying the economy and the working class. If you want to celebrate the wealthy getting richer and destroying jobs and unions and cutting wages go right ahead. When they get to you and your job, then we will see if you are still as happy as you think you are today. It doesn't matter if you are in the public or private sector... greedy Republicans are cutting wages and jobs.

What a sore loser you are. It amazes me that you are so ignorant about the Democratic agenda and how they want to to put you down and control you. If the republican agenda of less spending and a balanced budget is not your cup of "tea" then I can understand why you are probably in trouble in you own home, financially. You have to learn to spend less and balance your budget then you can start to move forward.

Republican agenda of spending less? Did Reagan spend less? He trippled the deficit. Did George Bush spend less? Hell no, he raised it some more. Did Bill Clinton spend less? Yes, government spending went down and he balanced the budget. Did spending go down under George W. Bush? Hell no. He doubled the debt and increased government spending more than any other president in history. So where is the one instance where Republicans have cut spending?

As far as controlling your life... what have Democrats tried to control. I think it is a Republican who is trying to stop people from buying soda in New York. Isn't it Republicans who are say you can't join a union. I think it is Republicans who are trying to stop people from getting married too.

What a laugh you just gave me. Clinton balanced the budget because he had a Republican controlled congress and he didn't have much of a choice. During the last two years of the Bush administration congress was controlled by the Democrats. Mayor Bloomberg has been a lifelong member of the Democratic party. He decided that he would run on the Republican ticket for NYC mayor because he thought that that would give him the best chance to win... and, he was correct. He won. Don't kid yourself, Bloomberg is a democrat through and through. Only a Democrat would try to control people the way that this NYC mayor is. Republicans are not trying to stop people from getting married. Where did this nonsense come from?

I could agree with you except there is little historical evidence that the Republican agenda is any different than a Democrat one. Republicans have not historically spent less.

That's a load of progressive media nonsense. How much did Obama overspend in his presidential election? Ya know why there was so much money raised for Walker? Cause we are not going to let the Obama situation happen again.

Sorry, but exit polls in Wisconsin say that Obama is leading by 12 points. People just don't like recall elections. They feel like politicians should only be recalled if they are indited for a crime. Now when Walker is indicted for a crime later this week... the people of Wisconsin may be a little upset with their choice yesterday.

Oh come on. Even the staunchest Democrats haven't come out with those absurd numbers. It's one thing to make up numbers for your excuse but don't be so transparent. If money is what bought this election then I guess "Mr. Billion dollar raised" campaign man, Barack Obama, bought the last presidential election. Get over yourself and just admit that you got whipped.

What cost the Democrats this election is the same thing that will cost them the presidential election in November. The majority of the people in this country are sick and tired of the progressives (Democrats) obstructionist tactics and their out of control spending. The liberals have got to go and they will in a big way. Not only will Obama lose but the conservatives in this country will also take over the Senate and maintain control of the house. It's the only chance we have.

What lost the election for Democrats is #1 the people of Wisconsin didn't believe in a recall election. They think the only reason to recall an elected official is because he has committed a crime. When Walker is charged with crimes in the very near future, there is already a huge investigaton taking place that refers to "John Doe", the people of Wisconsin will realize they made a mistake. And #2 why would you run a candidate who was beaten by Walker already.

Those numbers are not made up, those are the estimates I have read in several different publications.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com...

    http://www.motherjones.com/mo...

    http://www.nytimes.com/intera...

Sure, Obama outspent McCain in the last election. Why should money even be involved in a campaign? We need campaign finance reform. Both candidates should have the same resources so the best candidate wins not the one with the most money.
  • Rod Cleaver62 2012/06/08 01:25:50 (edited)
    Rod
You still didn't answer my question. You complained about the Democrats being outspent because that is probably what cost them the election. If that is true then the same thing happened in 2008. Obama won because he outspent the Republicans 4 to 1. And you're wrong. Shows you how little you really know about this election. The same guy that Walker beat in the first election is the same guy that Walker beat in this election. The Democrats didn't have much of choice who their candidate was because he won their primaries. Those numbers are made up,,, and as I said, so what. I don't care one way or the other.

Wisconsin has long been a Democratic state. The Democrats can't win there anymore because of what they have done to this country. The people of Wisconsin are not stupid.

Huffington Post says about 8 to 1.
Mother Jones says about 8 to 1.
NY Times estimates that the Republicans outspent the Democrats by about 2.5 to 1.

Those aren't even close to your mythical 20 to 1 number.

Money is the problem in elections. Elected officials spend more time raising money for their next election than they do working to represent us.

Did Obama have more money than McCain? Sure he did. Was Obama a better candidate than McCain? I think so. But money shouldn't be the issue. The candidates should be. And money is polluting the entire process. It is no longer "may the better man or woman win". It is "may the richer candidate" win.

The "regular" Joe can't run for office anymore because they can't raise the money needed to win. We need campaign finance reform. Both candidates need to have the same resources so they are judged on who they are and what they will do and not how many adds they can run a week before the election.

The people of Wisconsin are nearly split down the middle with what they want. 53% of the vote with the ammount of money Walker spent isn't exactly the ringing endorsement you arre giving him. Many people voted for Walker not because he was the beter candidate but because they are not for recall elections. Walker hasn't been charged with a crime... yet... so they didn't see the need for a recall.
  • Rod Cleaver62 2012/06/09 00:58:38

I agree with most of your statements about what money has done to our election process. Walker has been charged with no crime and likely won't be. Everything is just speculation at this point. Thanks.

A charge of some sort is close to coming down. He has raised a good amount of money for his legal defense fund already. I guess 13 of his closed buddies have been granted immunity so they will testify. I don't have a clue what it is about but the prosecutors are making sure they have enough evidence before the level the charges. This could be very interesting.

What a crock of crap you preach. Read the figures here as of May 21. At that point in time it was already more than 10:1. And that is just money we know about. We will never know the actual amount thanks the the right wing activist judges on the US Supreme Court.

If he had committed any crime he'd be in jail, lie one. Walker will be able to pass more legislation because if he doesn't..... the rest of the democrats in congress will be booted out since the majority of the people are on Walker's side, simple as that and even a 4 year old can understand this, can't you??
  • Cleaver62 GUAPO~L... 2012/06/06 22:09:20
    Cleaver62
He may be a criminal. He has set up a criminal defense fund for some yet untold infraction. The person listed on the inditement is John Doe. Legally, the only way Walker can set up a defense fund financed by capmaign donations is if he is going to be charged with a crime.

Republicans have been blocking every piece of meaningful legislation Obama and the Democrats tried to pass. When he won the election back in 2008, the people had spoken. Republicans didn't and still are not listening.

I don't believe a majority of people are on Walker's side. Republicans spent more money. Told lies about there being a surplus in Wisconsin. Walker's jobs record is horrible. His education budget is horrible. People didn't like the recall election and that's why he won. But he lost control of the Senate and that is the will of the people too.
