It's not known for sure if he applied socialism to both parties but if he did he would be on solid ground. There have certainly been socialist leanings in the republican party as well George & George Bush both pulled some socialist tricks and Teddy Roosevelt was a progressive as well. Good Day!

yeah, people need to stop using certain terms as if they are some kind of taboo. the idea of socialism is about the community, they work together and decide together what goes where. as for progressive it' about making advancements for rights to everyone and furthering certain advancements like figuring out how to make better cars and other technology.

Yes, socialism is indeed a subset of communism which is a derivative of community. Socialism should be taboo for anyone who enjoys freedom and independence from oppressive governments and who desires a strong economic system. Unlike capitalism, or the free market system, socialism has ALWAYS failed and will continue to fail because it kills incentive, destroys wealth, and you eventually run out of other people's money. Progressive ideologies are the building blocks to socialism and have little to do with technology and much to do with big government and tyranny. The progressive movement was prevalent in the early part of the last century with Woodrow Wilson being their darling. Mr. Wilson did some things that were very damaging to our republic. The 16th and 17th amendments and the Federal Reserve Act were among his dastardly deeds. We would be much better off if Wilson had never been POTUS.

OK, The NAZI's were fascist. They WERE NOT RIGHT WING. NAZI is actually an acronym meaning National Socialist Workers Party. Like the Communist Soviets were the USSR. United Soviet Socialist Republic. Notice anything similar? Like the "S" word? Both are about big government, anti-religion, control, Anti Semitic, Socialism; they are identical right down to their goose step. Right wing or conservative ideology is just the opposite. It is about small government, the free market (capitalism), religious freedom, little or no government dependency and racial tolerance. The founding Fathers were conservative, or right wing. Naturally, if you move too far to the right you have anarchy, which is not good either because some government is necessary. Many believe that Fascism is Right Wing and Socialism is left wing because during WW 2 the Germans went to war against the Russians. Totalitarian countries often war against one another because their horrible socialist economic systems can't provide for their needs, so they invade other countries for their resources. The facts are that Hitler and Stalin actually got along pretty well until Hitler went into the real estate business.
