Chopin... the Poet of the Piano.
Chopin was born in Poland in 1810 to a French father and Polish mother. He was a prodigy of the piano and composed masterpieces during his youth.
During his life time he performed approximately 30 concerts, as he preferred to play in a Salon type setting.
He wrote almost exclusively for the Piano with only a few ventures in song, etc.
He was always frail during his life and when he died, his body was buried in Paris; but, his heart was buried in Warsaw.
His funeral was held up for two weeks as he requested that Mozart's Requiem be sung; and, the church did not allow females to sing there.. they acquiesced and finally after two weeks he was interred.
I heartily invite you to place a video of his work here if you would. They require me to leave six and I know that I can't do him justice, even with that number.
Thanks for coming and listening.

Argerich is one of my favorites (if not the REAL favorite) of pianists. I can't seem to locate that video on youtube . sorry.
Thanks for coming here and contributing.
Thank you for putting this poll up about him. :):)
Thanks for coming and sharing, my good friend.
