In Canada, the metric system has been standardized, Marijuana laws are lax, and (at least in quebec, manitoba, and alberta) you can buy alcohol when you're 18. in America, quality of healthcare is better, the speed limits are higher, and gun laws are less restrictive (in some areas).
both have their ups and downs. i'd rather live in the United States, but i still like Canada very much.

Well I live in British Columbia, the west coast of Canada and we have tons of rain too. We are also very green. That is the plus to all that rain.

Well, it's funny you should say that. I was thinking that Ireland sort of has these two opposing images. There is that peaceful green hills image and then there is the whole Catholic/Protestant fighting thing.

Only live about an hr. from the Canadian border but have never been. Maybe one day. Either way, I love my country & proud to be an American.

I don't thing of them being all that different. Maybe the governments differ, but for the most part, the people don't. (Of course, that's true of almost any two countries you think of.)

Both have there good points and there bad points. Canada for its lakes and wilderness during the summers and USA for Florida's palm trees and beaches during the winters.

sorry but America is not a place I would ever want to live :/

I've lived in BC, Canada almost my whole life. It's a lot more laid back then a lot of other countries, it's pretty safe and It's health care is great. it does has stricter rules about food safety when it comes to restaurants though. which in the end is actually a good thing when it comes to places like McDonalds :)...PLUS it's beautiful..lot's of trees..lol
