We have a friend some 25 years ago, his wife was "putting it mildly" a whack job. He took their son, and raised him alone. His son is doing well in life, he did a wonderful job...

Yes.. and many do a wonderful job, and should be given credit ... an example would be my SH friend Digital Dave.. he has raised his son alone since birth... and Davey is now a wonderful and well rounded young man...
Kudos for all the great dads out there!

It would take a lot of patience, strength, continual admittance of failure but then we have to do those everyday anyway so yes I think it is possible.

I raised my son and daughter solo from when they were 13 and 9 and loved it! They were still young enough to undo the bad characteristics due to their irresponsible mother. They are now both exceptional adults who I admire and would, regardless of being their dad. Because of the roles of their mother and myself, they know quite well the difference of selfishness and selflessness.

Yes, single Dads can and are just as nurturing and loving as any single mom. I believe the portrayal of a single dad not being able to raise children properly is a myth started and pushed by divorce attorney's who represent the soon to be ex-wife and an old Puritanical idea that children are best raised by a women.

his grandfather had a fling with his caretaker. its quite the cute anime worth watching for all of those kawaii moments and its pretty realistic to how a single man would have to be dealing with this sort of situation.
