Really really horrible and stupid link for this post.
Club Fathom where this event took place DOES NOT SERVE OR ALLOW ALCOHOL.
It was a church party at a nightclub aimed at Highschoolers.
The article I found said they suspect the shooting is related to Gang activity. The Pastor for the church says a few Teens who had left Gangs after joining the church were targeted, by the people they left behind.
While I am very PRO gun ownership and believe that proper gun control is needed { thats hitting what ya aim at } it has ever been true that guns and booze never end well...
Considering this is 4 months old and your link is dead now, it's hard to find much.
It's a Church Owned Club run by a Pastor Tim Reid.
"We don't serve alcohol, or allow alcohol to be served at Mosaic-Fathom events. We do rent our facilities for private use, and the caterers may serve alcohol."
I agree, but what does that have to do with anything?
The fact is Booze wasn't served and wasn't allowed in the club that night.
If the shooter was drunk and we have no indication that he was, he got it somewhere else and snuck it in against the rules.
Since police believed the shooting was gang related, it really doesn't seem like a case of a dunk person misbehaving with a gun. Which is what your post implied.
Unless you have some evidence the shooter was drunk, your question has nothing to do with the story you based it on.
Yeah, well How about "Eddie's Liquor, Beer & Guns and Ammo.. Fine Wines, Cigars, and Hunting and Fishing Permits.." in the outskirts of Beautiful Pine Bluff, Arkansas
This is the result of lose gun laws. When people are allowed to enter saloons with guns, and then get loaded with booze, then they load their guns.Firearms should be banned from bars, and if I owned a bar I would not allowed anyone in with a gun.
I carry on a daily basis, have for 4 years now since the once peaceful city I live in has become a pest hole, but so far not a single person has seen the gun.
I don't understand why anyone would come armed to a Christmas party (even if it's TN) though from how AP reported it sounds as if the suspect was only targeting the off duty officer, I mean it sounds kind of suspicious that in a crowd of 400 people the suspect pulls a gun on the only off duty officer at the party (at least I think the only).
So if I'm carrying my gun concealed, I shouldn't be allowed to go into Outback for dinner?
It's illegal to drink and carry a gun at the same time. At least in my state, and most I know of.
Guns and Booze don't mix, but that doesn't apply to buildings. I have both guns and booze in my home. I've had my gun in the kitchen with me where there is alcohol. Nothing bad happened.
If I'm drinking the guns are locked up, if the guns are out the booze is locked up.
That said I've had my gun in more than one room with people drinking, and none of them even knew I had it.

Then Linked to a news report about a Shooting at a club that, DOES NOT ALLOW ANY ALCOHOL.
So what the hell does booze even have to do with this story?
Just might want to research to confirm your assumptions before posting topics.

Since this event was hosted and run by the Church, there was no booze being sold that night.
The story isn't there anymore, it's old enough the news deleted it.
You click the link and it brings this up now.

Besides if a person isn't drinking why does it matter if the building he's in is serving others?
Here in Virginia the laws were changed to allow carry in places that serve alcohol as long as you don't drink.
That was over a year ago and there hasn't been any problems.
The police were saying the shooting was Gang motivated.
