Agree. Loving a loser brings you down from your own state of happiness. You can find a lover who is worthy of you, but being stuck with a loser can take years.

What a horrible way to look at life and relationships. The very selfishness of the question makes me wonder at the philosophy of the person asking it.

I understand though that modern times its all about yourself. Even the so called Feminist "Liberals" today are self centred and the opposite of Liberal in reality.
. Everybody is anti social, its kill or be killed. Get rich or die. The only ethic taking care of #1.

My lovers are not losers. They have wonderful qualities that caused me to love them.
I am a relic of old Americans. I do not view people as objects of potential profit or loss.

When someone becomes my lover (not just casual sex) they have a place in my heart for eternity. That's the way it is. I never abandon them. Our relationship may change, passions cool, but not my affections. They are always winners to me.

Losing a lover is like losing an extension of one's self, but to love a loser is to look past shallow points of view and see the terrific person underneath that compliments your inner loser

The challenge lies in how one defines a looser. I accept fiscally responsibility for my spending. I am empathetic to the emotional needs of others. However, some might deem me a looser because I still take a childlike delight in fictional flights of fantasy.

For example, I have a framed print of Swamp Thing on my wall and a statue of Batman on my mantel piece. There are those who would consider these actions as immature and indicative of a looser. I don’t agree.

I just had to find someone who wanted to hang their framed print of Kabuki on my wall. It was not easy, but she was out there and I finally found her.

What you real mean by loser; are so many kinds of losers, inclusive yourself and me. Let’s putted this way; when a loser just a real loser in using drugs, get drunk every day, spend the money on gambling, or beat the wife. But some people going to extremis when a person makes a mistake even twice, for some right away is a loser. Many times could be a nice person with lots of good things and have one or more do not like, should trying to make understand, for a change. Another example a heavy smoker, everything on the person is good, but smell a tobacco can’t even kiss, may that person change. Habits have been the most pest humans have; some of them not bad, others could be correct and a happy life could come around. A.Oscar

I agree with many of the sentiments in this thread and that is from what I have read, you really need to define a loser..there are a lot of people who make a lot of money, but have no capacity to love another person..That in my definition is the biggest loser..If you can't feel anything, then you are a loser..if you never hurt, then you are a loser, if you've never gotten angry, then you are a loser..again if you can't feel anything then you are a loser..that would be my definition..Obama comes to mind..Many think he is a winner, I don't

Gunner, truer words have rarely been written. No one needs to stay with another person who is not committed to the relationship or who is interested only in what they can get out of you. It is not an easy thing to do, but it's better to be alone than in a "losing" relationship.

I think it depends. Does loser mean like a bad person or a loser as in a nerd? Because if it's a bad person, yes, it's better to lose a lover than be stuck with a bad person for the rest of your life but if it's a "nerd" then quit being so judgmental.
