a trip to Hawaii during Christmas break two years ago. Stayed there for 3 weeks... back home, messed up stuff was happening in my circle of friends, I felt stranded and I couldn't do anything to make things right. When I got back, everything was different, but down the road I looked back and decided it was for the best. That's the most life-changing trip I've ever been on, and I'm grateful for it.
From Seoul (via Beijing) to Cairo. Saw the sights. Took a train down to Luxor. Took a boat up the Nile to Edfu and then Aswan. Got a train back to Cairo. Hit the museum. Flew (via Larnaca) to Athens. Bumped around there a while. Flew to Rome. Did the touristy thing. Train up to Milan, where I spent an afternoon, then train to Paris. More touristy stuff. Flew to Dublin. Based there, then took day trips around the countryside for the better part of a week, including up to Belfast and the Giant's Causway. Flew to Boston. Saw all the old historical stuff and a Red Sox game. Flew (via Phoenix) home to Spokane.
I gotta go with when a Kid we went up the coast to Boston and Old Ironsides to Maine where we got on the "Bluenose Ferry to Nova Scotia and then vacationed camping in New Brunswick. Later driving thru Niagara falls back home to Ohio.
Back in the mid 80's - a girlfriend and I took our motorcycles up into Ontario, up around Thunder Bay and back into Michigan's UP. The trip was beautiful! It didn't rain on us once. We had a little trouble following maps, too, and got ourselves good and lost in the country a couple times. But what fun!
back packing in the south west ... it was dry and the sky was full of stars ... I slept in ancient ruins ... caught and ate trout ... washed in cold streams .... perfect ....... then there was that time on the sea of cortez
