But McDonald's and Five Guys have the best fries. (I usually don't order fries from In N Out. I usually just get two burgers. Their fries are okay, but not great.)

The BIG BOY always counts although the sauce my differ from place to place.

The sauce on the Big Boys I grew up with at Manners and Frich's in Ohio was white mayo based with dill relish. I have had Big Boys in other states where the sauce is more like thousand island dressing.

It's not a 5 star restaurant where you sit and wait 20 minutes for the chef to prepare your meal. They flip a burger and dump chili in a bowl for you. Granted it's nicer than Wendys, it's not fine dining. It's sort of in between I suppose. 5 Guys doesn't even have a drive thru... isn't that a somewhat requirement of fast food? Yet it's the top voted comment. Because it meets the requirement of the phrase "fast food". That's only one requirement, the food is prepared very fast. It's not like having a steak specially prepared for you the perfect way you like it. Rather, it's mass production food.

Yeah, pretty much, they have a larger selection though... the only big difference is a waitress brings the food to the table. But it's still fast food-like quality food. I've eaten at enough 5 star restaurant to know that Steak & Shake pretty much is a 1950's nostalgic themed fast food joint. Just like Sonic. They also have waitresses, but it's very similar to McDonalds food.
