I don't really do either. I have never blocked someone because I have never been harassed, and aside from harassment, I find blocking someone childish. However, I don't always get the last word in either. There have been times in an argument where I have simply stopped arguing (or never responded if it was just an insult) or have just agreed to disagree and left it alone.

I usually keep trying until I realize I'm wasting my breath, then I just move on.
I realize that I'm at that point when I try to lighten things up and make a joke and the other person just wants to keep arguing while foaming at the mouth. I can't deal when people have no sense of humor.

I've been known to stand my ground if I feel I'm right, but I'm not above admitting error if proven otherwise. Keyboard Popeye's, Internet Musclemen or Women really don't bother me all that much, I mean what are they going to do go bold print or use the cap lock on me?????

In truth none of the choices tells the truth about me on SodaHead. But I picked the first one because it comes closer. I will keep speaking the Word of God and that is that. I have only blocked one person. The person was clearly mad. She thought that she was god. Her conversations all pointed to a person who clearly belonged in some type of institution. Every conversation was a disaster and as an evil spirit possessed person. It was not a conversation. The person was really talking witchcraft and such things that clearly indicated some sort of demonic mess that I had to block. The person was driving me nuts with that crap!

Yes I never stopped the person from speaking that mess. I only stopped her from speaking that mess to me. I only stopped her from posting all that evil Satanic crap on my profile and in my groups. The woman clearly had some sort of problem. You would have to be in my shoes to understand why.

True, its important to remember that free speech doesn't mean everyone else is forced to listen to the people exercising their right to speak. Its a main contention they make for why "offensive" radio/tv stations shouldn't be banned, for example.

Ditto, though I wonder then what your opinion is on free speech if say, it is someone on the street waving about signs that you find offensive? No "block" button for that, if your eyes should happen to spy it of their own accord you've already seen the offensive material.

Depends on how much knowledge i have on a subject. I don't think I'll dry up and blow away if someone has more on a matter, I'm not afraid to be mistaken, i can live with it. but if i know I'm right, I'm a whole other animal and I'll end up proving it.

There are people who will always have the last word. Then there are plenty of blockers. Then there are people who can't be reasoned with and will keep babbling nonsense who actually need to be blocked. It's like you can't win on here, and you can't even lose without someone making nonsense that makes you want to bludgeon yourself with a ball peen hammer. It would suggest the smart thing to do is to stay off SH there is no intelligent life here. However there is the occasional person or comment that makes you say. Eureka! There is intelligence here to be cherished!

Well I don't block, I try to resolve if a debate looks to be going no where. Sometimes you have to agree to disagree, I hate senseless bickering almost as much as I hate those block and run cowards.

I rarely block people and probably only have three or four blocked now and thats because they were "insult then block" cowards (you know who you are) who throw a childish insult then block so you cant reply, then troll unblock throw out another insult and block again.
if it wasn't a TOS violation I would name the cowards here now.
I will continue to reply to idiots until all they can do is spout nonsense. then I just quit replying

I definitely love to have the last word in most cases. Sometimes I just don't care enough to continue, but I won't block them. I'll just leave them hanging. I only block if they block me first.

I don't need to have the last word and like to choose my battles – there are some things that are just not worth arguing over and for those times I generally don’t reply. For things that are either important to me or someone is attempting to insult me in some manner – I will keep responding until A) I’ve made my point clear enough or B) the person starts to bore me.
