A little of both, if the sun isn't too hot or the water too cold. But after a while, enjoy a walk to a great restaurant for a grouper sandwich and she-crab soup!! The perfect day at the beach!!

completely un-stereotypical australian of me but i only go to the beach every 2nd year over christmas, i prefer to spend my time with the little kids (in my family) building sandcastles and swimming with them in the shallow.

I'm too impatient to sunbathe. If I want to tan, I go to a tanning bed, it's quicker (but more expensive....)

Love the water. I was SCUBA certified at 16, and used to go to the pool once a week to swim a mile as part of my regular workout. Unfortunately I haven't gone diving in years and, though I still exercise regularly I just don't have time to get to a pool as part of it. At the beach, however, I still love the water. Just booked our summer vacation today (Virginia Beach).

I dont really care for the beach so I usually just dip my feet in and hope for a tan. However, when I go to lakes or pools, I actually go in and swim. Another thing is it depends on how bad the waves are at the beach

Walk up and down the beach to collect beach glass and interesting shells or nap under a big beach umbrella. I prefer swimming in a pool.

I dont like the sand, I do not like the water. I would rather be in the apartment or shop! All I love of the beach is not being at home having to cook!

I get bored with sunbathing, and there is never a good position to read. In any case, my family is prone to skin cancer. Pass the SPF 70 and my boogie board and I am ready to go!
