I'm a pretty good judge of "genuine" nice versus "fake" nice.

Sometimes. Many people have ulterior (hidden) motives. It never hurts to keep your guard up until someone PROVES that you can lower it. Take your time and be patient in your discovery. Wisdom and patience can make a wonderful difference in all things.

Sometimes they do it because they want something and they do it because they might feel sorry about something that you did or something bad you did and wants to offer some help or support!!!!!!!!!!!

Sometimes.... It depends on the person some people are really nice by nature it's the ones that are usually rude and mean and they start being nice that's when I'm suspicious.

I have a talent for judging people pretty well. I can read people well too. Just usually choose to ignore my intuition. Most of the time when I meet someone I can usually judge someone's character pretty well. Therefore I'm usually not to fooled by overly nice people.

Yes, very suspicious of those who come on as very sweet, say they love everybody, appreciate your friendship say they'll be your friend forever and the minute things don't go their way, the friendship is over. A lot of them here on Sodahead. Hypocrites and back stabbers in my opinion.

Depends on the circumstances. I am a very friendly outgoing person. Grew up in a small town in Oklahoma and never meant a stranger so for the most part I just expect people to be nice. However, the Eddie Haskel, those of you that old will know who I mean, sorry to the youngins I definitely smell a rat.
