What rights do people in general have, that gays do not?
And no, don't answer "the right to marry." Gays already have a right to marry.
Marriage is a man-woman union. Gays have just as much of a right to enter into such a union as anyone else.
The one man-one woman rule on marriage applies to everyone, including gays. There is no "inequality" there.
Nothing is stopping gay people from marrying. Nothing, that is, except their own "alternative" and less-than-natural sexual orientation.

I support the idea of two people being able to share their life as partners with all rights as a married couple. But the term marriage which does come from religion should be given under religion. Let me clarify that, if a church deem to married two of the same sex in Holy Matrimony, call is a marriage. But no matter the sexes, if not under the term of religion it should be see as a domestic union which does carry equal rights. I think many whom are fighting over this same sex marriage are fighting in the wrong place. Get the religions to except the idea, keep it out of the governments control to tell you that you are married or not.
Now many states except domestic unions between same sex couples and only a handful will not except a domestic union of same sex couples.
As for same sex couples having equal right to children or sharing of insurance. I ask to name one state that does not except a same sex couple to share either. Now before you say you heard or read a same sex couple being denied either, I will bet it was the company or the adoption agency whom stopped it.
