I love Windows 8. It certainly beats Vista.

Yes it sucks so far. It's completely different and going to take getting used too. A new generation of computer users will grow up with it and know it like the rest of us know the old desktop and start menu. Over time people will get used to it. Right now it sucks.

I was so sick of it that I returned my new pc and got one that had windows 7 on it. I admit it, I'm an old fuddy-duddy - I like a toolbar at the bottom of the screen and most especially the "x" at the top of the right-side of the screen

I've bought NOTHING Micro$oft since XP. That outfit has wasted way too much of my life.

This is sent using Linux Ubuntu. It actually works!

I'm kind of a dinosaur with technology and have a time of it trying get used to my new Windows 8. I got it the week it came out and wish I would have laid out the bucks to have my 7 fixed.

I don't buy anything Microsoft until it has been on the market at least three years. That is when they finally get most of the bugs out of it. Besides I don't like the desktop array. It looks like it was designed by Pablo Picasso or Salvador Dali. It was that array that drove me away from Windows phones.

Windows wants to use the operating system like a I-Phone; instead of a PC; they don't tell the customers that because of all of the apps; and the add-ons; that there is a big :slow down" despite the large sata drive and the high Ram
it is nothing you want to buy because it's there.
    it is Vista on meth...

YES!!!! Apps belong on cell phones, NOT on a pc; nor should it be password protected as it makes it hard for an 88 year old man with alzheimers

it is terrible; they're pitching more to the young; and little kids...but it has a "slow down" mode because of all the Apps; and it loads up way too fast..

i agree...the windows 98 had great features..just greed and pushing new ..ooohhh...aahhhh applications and bells and whistles...then XP slurped up your entire 2 Gig memory just to download to your computer...the win 98 was a good system...unfortunately many sheeples followed the herd and went to XP and then to windows 7...Many of the smarter of us...skipped Vista entirely as too glitch and bug riddled to even to contemplate putting it on our computer microsoft monoploy bad systems

Supposedly Microsoft felt they had to go to something like that with the new direction being touch screens and tablets. They were feeling outdated and that Apple was going to one up them. Even so, they should make it an easy choice within the OS, for people to keep the old look and feel. For people who aren't really familiar with computers it's going to be difficult to relearn how to do things.

Well, I agree with alot of the ten points that the Frugal Tech makes in the video i shared. Playing catchup is never a good idea in business. You'll never get ahead of your competition if you just follow their lead. Hmmmn...maybe the should hire me in R&D and marketing. The microsoft people cant seem to stand anyone else getting their fair share of the computer market.

Well I don't know what you mean by fair share but I do have problems with Microsoft. They have done a lot for the computer industry. Heck where we are today is due, in large part, to Microsoft. A lot of the huge corporations get too big for their britches. Apple is the same way. While they bring about a lot of innovation, they also stifle it in someways by the rules they set in their product use but that is another discussion. I'm a big proponent of open source but I understand companies are in business to make money. I'll have to take a look at the video you posted.

Windows 8 works best for convertibles (laptops that can turn into tablets). That way you have both a tablet OS and pc OS.

I disagree. Look at the frugal tech. It explains why that is a false assumption as Apple has consistently out performed Microsoft in the tablet and laptop arena.
