Why cant they place random photos from members or something. The ads really get annoying. I realize that SH probably gets a kickback or paid somehow like Google Ads but still.

I ignore them. Besides it is the ads that keep Sodahead free. Would you rather pay $20 a month for an ad-free Sodahead? Not me.
