Not nearly as much as most Americans, it seems. The United States was a great country, it was the origin of many great ideas. I'll always love the United Kingdom more, but hey. The United States is the next best thing. I haven't been proud of it lately though.
I love my country dearly, but I have to acknowledge the unfortunate fact that I had pretty much nothing to do with it's formation or it's history, so being proud is a bit silly.
Iam very proud of my wee country now, we still have bits of trouble (N.Ireland) but on the whole I think we have got our act together and the future is looking bright.
I'm proud of my country most of the time but when I see or watch stuff about how educated the people are in it I get really embarrassed. How do you NOT remember the things that happen on 9/11 or when it happened.
Absolutely NOT! We have people from other continents who are laughing at us. We have a President who bows to other people who hate certain members of the Human Race, for their own religious reasons. We are known as a Country that does NOT Enforce Her Laws.
The brilliantly inspired US Constitution has provided the seedbed for the greatest society in the world and we stand strong ..... in spite of the insideous cancer trying to eat away at our foundations.
I am proud of our Founding Father's courage to risk their lives to start a country based off their philosophies, I don't consider the current state of affairs because in the long term it's a blip in time, I mean I already look back and think that GWB almost looks like a moderate compared to the new and not really improved GOP. But in its founding I am proud of America and I am proud of the fact that people can get away with dissing the sitting Prez and not have their asses thrown in prison since they are free to make fools of themselves in this country.
But after Vietnam, not very often. And I can definitely say I am not proud nor do I have an ounce of trust for the 525 people who make up our government, corporate America and the military leadership.
I'm proud of our past, not of our present. I'm really not very proud of roughly the last century either, but that goes more to our government than our people.
I am proud of my country. However, blind patriotism is not actual patriotism. Stupid people who wrap themselves in the flag to do evil to their countrymen are the bane of our society.
Oh yeah, for all the jive turkey suckas that always hating on Obama
Boo!
Silas Lynch
Bwah ha ha, ha haaaaaa!

God Bless this beautiful country.
I am thankfully neither a jingoist nor a defeatist.
(Since this song was made there are about 16,5 miljion people in The Netherlands)
of the values my country was meant to represent-
i am proud...
of america's founding documents-
i am proud...
of the generations...
who understood liberty-
i am dismayed...
by what america has become-
i am dismayed ...
that americans are the cause of this-
what have you done folks???
voted for shallow...
deceptive...
self serving fools-
who sell themselves ...
and us...
and our future-
the price will soon come due-
then you will all cry-
while i am not afraid...
to say ...
told you so-
you deserve...
what you are about to get-
