I am a twin. I was first born then my sister was born 19 minutes later. We were quite big twins, I was 6 pounds , 8 ounces and my twin sister was 6 pounds , 2 ounces.

    I was born a twin but my brother died ..but nobody else in the family or friends have had twins....

    I don't know of any twins that were "retards", but I do know of some who were extremely tiny and had to stay in the hosptial for many weeks. I just think that you were very fortunate to have been carried so long that you had a healthy weight.

    WOW! Under 2 lbs.? Poor little guys. I'm sorry if I misunderstood your original post. I thought I read that your Mom carried you much longer and you were in better shape than a lot of newborn multiples. That had to have been extremely stressful to your Mom & Dad. I keep recalling a friend of mine whose family also had a very tiny baby that literally could be measured in the palm of a hand.

    Somewhere I picked up on a post that must have gotten entwined with yours where the poster (which I obviously errored with yours), where the Mother carried her babies to near term and they weighed a very healthy birth weight for being twins. I don't know where it got muddled but it did and I'm glad that you survived and are here to tell us about your family history..

    Those are such lovely names. PLEASE tell me that they weren't "buthered" into Jade or Jassy or some such thing? LOL. I had a friend when she was born, had a dad who was determined that her name would NOT be shortened, nicknamed, etc. So he called her Evonne. What could they do with that, right? Well, when she started school, before the year was out she had a nickname that followed her all the way thru......"Worm"!

    Somewhat guilty as charged! lol. While Jada is still Jada, I do find myself calling her sister "Jazz". Now if they get under my skin as only eight year old girls can, I usually give them the "LOOK" and call out their names properly. Lets just say that Jasmine prefers Jazz when the "LOOK" is present! lol

    I wish this question had a third option. If there are twins in my family, it is incredibly distant as I have a rather large family and a fairly good knowledge of my relatives... so, neither applies to me (or to many others, I would assume).

    We have twins in the family but my mom had carried twins almost term and lost them at the end. It was so sad.

    I have twins in my family and triplets but I am not a twin I was the one that was suppose to carry twins but my body could not handle it. I was pregnant with twins and lost one in my first trimester and then I was pregnant with triplets and lost 2 in my first trimester also.
