Are You More Impulsive When You Shop Online?

I can't say that I have ever shopped on-line . . . I have read some commercial advertisements that I could NOT avoid for obvious reasons; like they were covering what I opened with a Click of my Mouse . . .

I rarely shop online but if I do it's for something specific.

I'm more likely to find EXACTLY what I'm looking for or something that's really unique and interesting online than I am at a brick and mortar.

I do not drive.. so Online is super for me & I go gaga, when doing Christmas shopping!!

Less. Part of the problem with shopping in stores, at least for clothes, is not only do I see how wonderful things look, but I see how wonderful they look on me. With everything else in person it is pretty easy to check things over, but online I get paranoid about checking the quality and how reputable the site is, diminishing any impulsiveness.

The same level as regular shopping.

Truthfully, when I shop online, I tend to be more strict, because:

1. It's not in my hands.
2. I see the price, so I'm more apt to take things out of my cart, whereas in a store, I don't want to fool with putting things back so I just keep them.
3. I can have the money and still not purchase things online, which is proof for me personally I'm a bit pickier and can control myself.
4. Online shopping comes with uncertainties. I don't like not knowing if there will be a billing, delivery, or product issue. I have tended to order online without much problem, but when there is a problem, it's a BIG problem.

So really, I'm more impulsive when I'm actually in the store :)

I will save items that I really love and then wait until there's a site sale and then I'll buy it because if its good quality and I know the site almost always has a sale then I will save it. ASOS is one of my ultimate sites because they let you save it for 60 days and you can save as many as you want and you can go to the outlet which is always 70% off and I love that. Great quality and different designers.

I do the majority of my shopping online because I shop at a lot of stores that we don't have where I live. I don't think I'm more impulsive though. When I shop at a store, I only know the general idea of what the total amount will be. (I don't break out the calculator and add up everything in my cart). When I shop online and it shows me the total at the end before I pay, I think, "Hmm... that's more than I really need to spend. I guess I don't really need some of this."

Agreed. It's a good way to really figure out if you need something or if you can afford it. Helps you to not make impulse decisions.

Less so.

I am a lot less compulsive when shopping online. I read reviews, investigate whatever it is i'm interested in and actually think about the money i'm about to spend.

I'll read reviews and ratings for days before deciding on an item. That being said, what I get tends to last longer since I do so.

I don't shop online.

Only time I was impulsive is when I bought a vintage Soviet watch off of Etsy.
I don't regret it one bit.

I read reviews before I buy it (which you can't necessarily get in stores - more of a trial and error type of deal). And if it's clothing items, I prefer to try them on before purchasing so that automatically steers me away.

Somewhat, yes. But I still try to be reasonable about how much I spend.

In a way. I'm more analytical of most things, but it's so much easier to buy things, so I tend to grab things I ordinarily wouldn't bother with.

If i see something on the internet i check it many times a day, making sure i'm getting the best deal, if i'm satisfied and i've entered the info in correctly then i will click submit payment....This can take me days. Yup.

Can't help it....

I'm more impulsive in stores because I feel like I took the trip out there if I leave without getting something it was a wasted trip...

No, overall. When there's a special and I am gift shopping for others, that be different...
