Love watching home improvement shows, and greatly impressed by those able to do it. I consider it a true form of art, a practical, needed art.

For the most part, yeah. It kinda comes in handy since I'm a mechanical engineer.

Fairly good if I have a proper manual, like Haynes. And I can fit Ikea furniture together with no odd screws left over :-)

I'm good with most of those types of things until you get me anywhere near a car. I am utterly useless when it comes auto-mechanics.

To bad my father didn't recognize it when I was growing up or maybe he wouldn't have had such a low value of me.

I am to a point, If I know I can't fix it, I have no problem letting a professional take care of it.

That has got to be the most impressive fireplace I have ever seen. That room looks bigger than my NYC apartment. Let me know when me and the kids can come visit! :o) Just kidding, I'm not the stalker type!

I'm from the mechanical age, 60s', we learned that stuff in school and on our own taking things apart to see how they worked!

I put together a computer work station, a couple of chairs, table and cabinets for the kitchen and bath but I am not sure I am good at all mechanical stuff, as long as there are no hinges to install. If the instructions are idiot proof, then I can do it.
