Yes, when I was a kid it took out 15 of my neighbors cattle. They were in a small area of the feild , not even near a tree. We have had 2 strikes at my house the first took out the well pumps, and they are over 300 feet down! The second took out my TV antenna, it melted the power booster box. It sounded like a shot gun went off in the house! The cats and I were both diving under the couch!
It's a personal joke sister. LOL I had it striking all around me once when I was working in the back yard. The Missus said "Quit playing with that lightining and get in here." LOL
I grew up in Colorado where the lightening is fierce. I had a friend killed by it. When a lightening storm is passing over, the air is rarified to the extent that the hair on your arms stands up. I am not making this up! Many of the storms are of the flash, bang nature. There is only a split second between the flash and the thunder.
split a huge tree in half and it caught on fire. luckily, it was in an open field and didnt hit any houses. we get so much lightning here in florida it does a lot of damage. it is beautiful though. G-d's power.
Not normally but a few years ago in 2006 we had one he worst lighting storms on record by lightening strikes, and that was a little scary. Several hundred hit the city during the storm.

No-I absolutely LOVE lightning. I know it is a 'natural' phenomenon but in my mind it is also a manifestation of God's power and symbolic of His creations.
