Not most bats, like fruit bats. They are so cute with their beady little eyes and snubbed noses and cute fuzzy little ears. They remind me of hamsters with capes. I've had a bat hang from my finger before. Really a sweet, docile thing. I got to feed her a grape. But as a rule I dont think they are much interested in human companionship. Probably not a good choice for a pet. Plus they'd just keep you up all night. Don't know anything about vampire bats, however. They look aggressive and mean.

No, they're cute! They get a bad rep for potentially caring rabies, but cats and raccoons are more likely to have rabies than bats.

It makes me smile to think you're afraid of anything. I wouldn't have one for a pet or anything, but they are fascinating part of nature, from a distance.

Yes very much so.As a kid I woke up to one in my room .I screamed my mother came in to see what was wrong and closed the door leaving me in there with the bat. Her lack of maternal skills is legendary.My kids had a bat house in the woods in back of a house we lived in I wouldn't even go in that part of the yard.

My Hero !!! I grew up in an old victorian with 5 fireplaces(obviously built before cental heating) .The nasty little creatures would get in through them all the time.
