Getting there with age, forgot my wallet at home yesterday only realized it when I was paying. I lost my spare set of keys first time ever, but found them two days later, worst part is where I found the keys, I did look there a few times, I'm telling you its something here that was hiding it from me ☺
I think it is information overload. Older folks have their file cabinets filled with tons of information vs young folks who only have a couple of files filled. It takes a lot to quickly sort through the info and get it quickly thus over load. That's my story and Im sticking with it...........LOL
there are trivial things from long ago i always remember, but some simple daily things i will totally forget, or be going to do something then my mind goes blank
And short term memory does not get stronger as you age. lol
