I love Greek Mythology. When I can, I always teach a Greek Mythology unit. I've loved that I've gotten students really interested in it. There are so many words and expressions that we use that have their roots in mythology.

Greek, Egyptian, and Norse are my favorites. I once tried to make a family tree for the Greek gods. It didn't work out. :)

Well sort of. I'm pretty solid with Greek Mythology I've heard many of those tales since I was very young (especially the story of spring and Persephone). I know a handful of Egyptian myths and a handful of assorted other culture's myths.

I enjoy knowing how people believed in the divine and explained their world.
I especially like the Jesus myth.
Nobody told me in Sunday school that all the stories of Jesus were borrowed from pagan religions that came way before Christianity.

Used to be really into Greek mythology but now I focus on Norse mythology because I'm Scandinavian and an Asatruar to boot lol.

Wow, Toudai? Awesome. That's the trouble over here. There are plenty of classes and things on European and Mediterranean traditions, but it's hard to find anything East Asian with any real depth to it.

I wouldn't say a buff, but do study it a bit. Very interesting stuff. It seems there may be a little truth behind some of those myths....in my novice opinion.
