However, all is not as it appears. An oddly shaped apple might actually be perfectly fine, while a perfectly fine shaped apple could actually be bad inside. Got it from this book series. :)

No, There isn't, just lazy people who leave to old apples on the bottom, instead of lifting them before, filling up with fresh apples.
