It certainly appears that way. The killing of people of color, abortion doctors, gays, seems to happen more than right wingers being targeted.

Are you talking about the Gabby Gifford's shooter, Jared Lee Loughner? If so you are factually incorrect or do you know more about this guy than his best friend, Zach Osler, who said, "He did not watch TV; he disliked the news; he didn't listen to political radio; he didn't take sides; he wasn't on the Left; he wasn't on the Right." Why would a guy who hated women in positions of power want to impress Sarah Palin?

That's a lame non-answer. Maybe you should just stir the DNC koolaid and leave the discussions to the grownups

Hate groups have always been, and will always be. They are among us all. Right wing, center, and left wing. That's just the way it is.

It does seem that way. It honestly does. And the extremist right wing that does these terrible things colors all the rest.....just as the right wingers blame all liberals for that which the extreme left does. But even the right leaning folks seem to be more hostile, more vicious.

And both the Aurora shooter and Gifford's shooter were mentally imbalanced..and please, don't be silly enough to draw a correlation there. But I remember the Oklahoma bombing, I lost friends and coworkers there. And I remember Eric Rudolph, and Scott Roeder. And more, much much more.....

I would argue that anyone that wants to kill lots of people is mentally imbalanced.

There is no way this is a right-wing trend of any sort. Most terrorists in this country over the last 50 years have been liberal. The Weathermen blew stuff up, the Black Panthers physically attacked people. The SLA kidnapped people. ELF and ALF spiked trees and set stuff on fire. The IMF protestors rioted and destroyed people's property. Want more? On and on it goes. So, tossing one or two lone wolves as a rebuttal is a joke.

It's no joke. One or two lone wolves.....how many dead do those few lone wolves account for? The Oklahoma blast claimed 168 lives, including 19 children under the age of 6 and injured more than 680 people. FAR more than the Weathermen, who never killed anyone, or ELF or ALF. All those I mentioned took human life, which I find more offensive than destruction of personal property...don't you?

He is right and you never addressed his point. That Colorado guy was imbalanced. Even his shrink was trying to get the word out to the authorities. We are finding this out today.

But it seems like you are saying when left wingers start shooting, they are mentally imbalanced but when right wingers start shooting, they are typical right wingers.

    Seriously?

No. Nice extrapolation, but makes too many erroneous assumptions. I've claimed from the first that I thought the Aurora gunman had mental health issues as did the Virginia Tech shooter. Crazy trumps everything, pure and simple. When something goes down I don't immediately jump to see what their politics are. However, my point is that those 'crazy left wingers' don't seem to rack up as high a body count as those that act out as 'crazy right wingers'. He dropped out of the conversation when I made that point.

Uh - I am pretty sure Abraham Lincoln was a republican. As a result a lot the hate groups who persecuted people for color were DEMS - there has been a recent shift which tends to the GOP conservatives as haters. Let's face it, if slavery was around today that would be a very Liberal idea / far from the norm.

Calling a neo nazi group "right-wing" is inaccurate to begin with. Nazi's are "national socialists". Hardly a conservative concept...

I think there is an equal spread of hate between left and right. It's the extremists that are the problems. There are just as many LWNJ's as there are RWNJ's. People need to stop drinking koolaid.

Almost four years ago Michael Chertoff directed the Department of Homeland Security to develop a report on hate groups in this country. Their conclusion was that there is a significant rise in Right Wing extremism and planned domestic terrorism from the Right. The report has not only proven scarily accurate, but it seems it was an understatement. And that report did not even take into account the encouragement to violence that has come from the Tea Partiers and their spokespersons like Sarah Palin and Sharon Angle.

    dhs right wing violence

but then again. . . . if you are on the left and fight or are against hatred, bigotry, prejudice of any kind or oppression. . . . then you are not only a hate group. . . but a hypocritical hate group.

Come to think of it. i have yet to EVER come across a conservative that believed in accepting others and fighting for equality and happiness . . . . . they are always fighting for something that brings themselves personal gain
