We're just taught to keep them more hidden so we don't appear to be unmanly.

In my humble opionion women seem to have a far wider range of emotions than men. So in that respect men are not as emotional as women. Men are emotional, but don't seem to have the range that women have. (I am talking in general here, of course no two men or women are exactly the same).

The difference between male emotional displays and female emotional displays are the socially acceptable emotions allowed to be displayed. Women can display.. pretty much whatever. Men can do happy, horny, and angry.

We tend to think about practical matters, less deeply. That is, rather than analyzing a problem from several approaches, talking it over with a confidante and considering the implications in other areas of our lives, we generally figure an appoach and tackle it directly... then move on to what comes next.

I'm not saying this is 100% true, and I don't believe that one method is 'better' than the other. They're just different.

But I think we're capable of the same emotional level if we weren't so intimidated by emotions and always bottling them up.

The reason I say this, is because I know my emotions vary much less than a lot of women I know. I don't tend to have much extremes with my emotions, I am either mad or happy most of the time (mostly happy) and have very little change between the two. I also feel less of a need to cry and feel sad over things.

This is all in comparison to my love, who will go through five different moods in the time it takes to watch a movie, and is essentially Bi-polar when 'that time of the month' comes around XD
