Once upon a time there was a guy in robes standing on a corner speaking a language no one knew. soon they took him to an asylum, obviously deranged. The next day, he got dozens of visitors, all dressed and acting the same way. They had to release the first guy. I just imagine Wash. DC as being that asylum

Some of them might well have psychological or emotional issues, but the vast majority of them that seem unreasonable are just really impassioned, and as a result, they act irrationally.

They get angry at people who do not believe what they do for the same reason a 12 year old girl would get angry if somebody were trash talking Justin Beiber. Otherwise intelligent and eloquent people can turn into complete idiots when they are angry enough. They lose the ability to disagree without being disagreeable.
