Are all democrats either sexist or racists, or are they both?

I was asked a question by a seventh grader, studying the 2008 election in history class.

He has seen photos of people who wanted Hillary calling others sexist and people for Obama, calling others racist. This very smart young man asked me, since the two top people for the democratic choice where a black man and a white woman, doesn't that make all democrats either sexists or racists, or are they both?

Or either one; if they weren't, they wouldn't see it in EVERYONE else who wasn't either a minority or a woman. They're just projecting.
