The red carpet is always hit and miss, but at Sunday's American Music Awards it seemed like just about everyone was trying a little too hard with their outfits. Self-conscious outfit after self-conscious outfit walked the red carpet, and most looked forced and unnatural. I think everyone is feeling the Gaga factor and trying to keep pace with the sort of peacocking Gaga has become famous for, but not everyone can pull it off. Nor should they try.

Here are just a few of the stars that went for a home run...but ended up with a strikeout.

    wow...all of them! I hated the AMAs this year!! NKOTBSB was the only good thing! Oh and Taylor Swift! But other than that, I can NOT BELIEVE Justin Freakin Bieber won like, three awards. He makes me wanna puke. gay justin biebernkotbsb taylor swift justin freakin bieber won awards wanna puke

    They al were horrible. They try WAY TOO HARD! I actually kind liked Miley's dress, but it's way too short and that train was completely unnecessary.

    I actually liked all of those (except Willows), just for some of the people, not on them. I'd wear the one Pheobe Price had on, and Rihanna looked goood! But yeahhhh Willow looked like an idiot.

    Maybe if Kesha styled it differently it would have worked better but it was terrible. She needs to fire her stylist.

    Rihanna's dress was reat but it didn't look great on her. I think the hair made it too busy. It just seems off on her.
