ABC and Yahoo News call it "a dead heat" between Obama and Romney. Does Obama have a lock on the dead and brain-dead vote?

As much negative ad and talking points produced by this administration, that a sitting president can only pull even demonstrates what poor position Obama is in.

Obama has give tax credits to small businesses 17 times. He has tried ot make it easier for entrapeneurs to get a start in business.

That's not entirely true but it's also a moot point. The bottom line is steady jobs are not being created and small businesses are going bankrupt. It's scary how many store front have for sale or lease signs on them.

I agree but I don't see that happening anytime soon. With the exception of the 50% who don't pay any income tax, Everyone is overtaxed. It's hard to support business without money in your pocket. Sadly the worst my yet ahead of us.

I think businesses are waiting for the election with the hopes that Obama will go. However, I think no matter who is elected, businesses will start booming again after the election. Nothing is going to change with repulbicans in power. They want to privatize, hash over the hc bill for the 32nd time, and say no to every proposal. I am sick of it, and I hope the tea party republicans all lose their seats so we can again make progress.

No--dump the tea party congress and keep Obama. Do you realize we paid 2 billion for this do nothing congress and the only time they did anything was when it was almost to the last day before a crisis hit. This has got to stop.

Do you know how much money the conservatives wasted trying to repeal Obamacare? 23 million dollars!!! These fake fiscal conservatives who cry about wasted money and cutting govt WASTED 23 million dollars on repealing healthcare when they knew it wasnt going to happen. They are liars and cheats...

Repealing Obamacare is not a waste. It's the worst legislation I've seen in over 40 years of being a legislative analyst. This monster must be eliminated at all costs.

So, I guess you like going to the ER for free and expecting me to pay for you? You sound like what you accuse the libs of doing?
  • Bob DiN lstl5 2012/07/12 14:02:13

Nope I work hard and pay my own bills. Something I'd like to see the leeches of society living on the public dole do.
  • lstl5 Bob DiN 2012/07/12 14:07:05
    lstl5
The "leeches" as you call them, are people that work but make minimum wage. Whose fault is that? If it is the only job they can get, and take it, how can you call them leeches? You are just lucky that you have a good job and should have compassion for those who arent as lucky as you. I bet you claim to be a christian too.

In Texas, if you dont work, you dont get food stamps, maybe some housing assistance, and no medicaid. It is different in other states. I dont care about able bodied adults who refuse to work, but I do care about kids, and women who dont make enough money to pay for daycare in order to work, and that is the biggest share of people on the govt dole.

Those who work hard for low pay should get a hand. They also should get training for a better job if they have the IQ for it.
  • lstl5 Bob DiN 2012/07/12 16:47:42
    lstl5
IQ has nothing to do it, but I do think training programs would be a wonderful idea. This is another thing the republicans dont want to invest in. I worked with people who had taken many college courses and took entry level positions just so they could have a job.

Now they are trying to cut 16 billion from the food stamp program. I guess when republicans cut aid to the poor enough, then and only then, will they see what starving people will do.

I agree the food stamp needs trimming. I see to much abuse. A woman in front of me bought 5 lobsters and 1 porterhouse steak. It came to $154 and she paid with food stamps. Government programs smell of all types of corruption. Good intentions have unintended results.

How do you know that it was with a food stamp card? I wouldnt even know what a food stamp card looks like. If I see someone with a card, I assume it is a debit card because that is what I use.
  • Bob DiN lstl5 2012/07/13 07:22:22

Because she paid with food stamps right in front of us.

And you actually saw the card? Were you right under her butt?
  • Bob DiN lstl5 2012/07/13 11:22:08
    Bob DiN
It's a not card. It's stamps in different demonations. She counted them out and paid the checkout girl right in front of all of us. Plain as day. I also have heard of other people witnessing simliar incidents.

What state are you living in? They have cards now. The purpose is so people in line dont know if you are getting food assistance. They have used cards for years.
    http://savingtools.com/tips/c...
Maybe the lady actually worked there, and had some type of stamps for discount or something.

I still think you are wrong, but anyway, yes food stamps are used on unnecessary items. For instance, if I had food stamps, I wouldnt be buying any drinks. If we are that poor, we need to drink water. I would look for the best deals and only items that would sustain from one meal to the next. The problem is that if you buy healthy foods, you money wont go very far. Fresh fruits and vegetables dont fill you up and are very expensive.

NY has stamps. If they are going to change to a card they haven't as 2 weeks ago. MA also uses stamps. Also John Stossel had a show about the corruption is the program.
  • lstl5 Bob DiN 2012/07/14 11:16:08
    lstl5
Stossel? Really? He looks for the very few that abuse the system and shows them on his show. He doesnt go to the really downtrodden places that have to survive off food stamps. Cutting food stamps not only takes money out of the economy, but will cause children to go hungry. Our congress just waste millions trying to repeal healthcare, but yet wants to cut aid to the poor. They are pathetic.

The reality is the food stamp program is one of many that a full of frauld. Anything the government does is incompetent and/or corrupt. Congress has also involved in part as the appropriate the funds.

It may be, but to take away from children is prepostorous and then turn around and give more money to the rich. It is sinful.

I have no prejudices against the rich provided they earned it legally.

I dont either, and I would love to be well off, maybe not rich. I think lots of money makes people less caring and compassionate. But the worst thing is what seems to happen to really rich people. They have so many family tragedies in their lives. Stallones son just overdosed and look at the Kennedys. Maybe it is just because we hear about those things because they are famous, and maybe not.

There was a Governor in Minnesota, I believe, whose daughter was found in a snow bank. I would rather have less and have my family in tact.
