I've been called cheap many, many times. As I'm a single guy with a relatively new mortgage, and other expenses to take care of. So the usual things my couple friends enjoy such as frequent international travel, and wasting money on expensive things to impress people are not my idea of money well spent.

In my case I want to pay down my mortgage to a level where I can walk away, get rid of all my bills and move on. As my condo had a few issues with a foundation crack, and that was EXPENSIVE to fix.
