...........Well, I'm speaking from being a former homeowner, when You regularly make improvements inside and outside, it's a mutual endeavor, one person cannot make the improvements, shared conversation and shared decisions, over time, what You formerly bought with a house and property on purchasing it, later becomes a couple's Home, the key ingredient is a shared Love, while making the improvements........in my case, I had a brief, and failed marriage, and consequently the ownership turned into a sale of the house and property.........
After you unpack everything, and have put everything away, it is that first cleaning. Vacuuming, dusting, cleaning the windows, whatever it is other than dishes or laundry.
Home is where the heart is.
So for me I have to live there for a while and grow to love it there through everything thats wrong with it. When my stuff is scattered all over the place and I can tell someone something funny about it. Like when the door gets stuck I tell then not to worry because im going to feed them crapes through the door. Or how to get out of the bathroom when it gets stuck. Or the garbage disposal that sounds like a monster.
When you get excited to come back home, to fill safe, love,happy to share the rest of the day with your love and no matter what happened outside you just want to to come home because is also warm. :)
To me, a house becomes a home when it is where you really live, love, laugh, cry...it's where memories are made, and friends and family feel welcome. It's a refuge from the hustle and bustle of work and other outside obligations.
