I can earn plenty of money on my awesomeness and wit. Why risk it for the bigger amount when I can get a smaller amount that's a sure thing?

I'd go for the biggie but if I had crippling debts to pay off I'd perhaps settle on $100,000.

Odd, I would have expected it the opposite way...

My apologies for my language, I will rewrite:
I'd be less likely to take the bigger risk if I was crippled in debt just because under that strain day in day out if $100,000 cleared it that pressure would be gone. If I had $250,000 in debt though then that would be asking a serious question and I'd probably go opposite way as as your thinking.
Sorry for the time delay, swearing and general anti-social behavior x

    Interesting thought!

And I hadn't seen your other message before it was edited so all is well. You seem like a nice person anyways.

I'm not much of a gambler, and a $100,000 would more than get me out of debt, and make life a bit easier.

the million is more taxable then the 100,000. I also never seem to win no matter the odds so 100% win sounds good to me.

I don't think you're stupid. All preference. Sure it's ten times the money, but it's all preference whether half the odds is worth it.
