A Washington man says he was kicked off an airplane because his 3-year-old son was too fussy for the flight attendants.

The family was suppose to travel to the Virgin Islands over Memorial Day
weekend. The boy's father says the boy was crying and acting cranky
because he didn't want to sit with his seatbelt on as they were
preparing to take off.

He claims once the toddler was finally
calm, the pilot decided to taxi back to the gate and asked the father
and boy to get off the plane. Alaska Airlines says it was a matter of
safety and they would rather deal with the issue on the ground than in
mid-flight.

(it's been said, that the kid wouldn't put the seat belt on or wouldn't keep it on)

My kids never ever embarrassed me in public like this. I call bad parenting.

People pay a small fortune to fly these days, and it sounds like with this little beast on board, it was shaping up to be a miserable flight for everyone. Glad the pilot took a stand.

If it happens enough maybe people will start controlling their little monsters. There is no excuse for the behavior of the majority of kids...and, adults, come to think of it.

It is called parenting. Sorry this father is a failure at it.

I heard about this, and its not because of "fussiness" (flight attendants everywhere wish they were allowed to do that!), but because the child wouldnt put on his seat belt. Its an FAA violation. Enough said.

thanks for that :) I thought there might be more so I'll put that up.

Though if he's 3... could he unhook it, if the locked it in? (just wondering)

oh, yeah, (I'm a flight attendant), we would NEVER be allowed to kick somebody off of a flight because of being "fussy", and yeah, he probably could unhook it once its latched, but thats when dad needs to step in and make sure it stays secure.

I've sat near those who thought that their darling child's behavior was always perfectly acceptable, even when said child was screaming. If Dad did not prepare or insist to the child that the seat belt WOULD be worn and it WOULD happen without screeching, I'm glad for the sake of the other people on the plane, that they were escorted off the plane.
