Well if you look into some of the studies recently you'll see that it has been confirmed that the brain of a homosexual is different in certain degrees to that of a heterosexual. So yes, in one sense they are born that way. It's different wiring, so to speak. However I do think there are also those that chose that path - most likely because they are born bisexual.

I have a best friend and a cousin who are both gay, both from very hetero families. My cousin in particular from a portion of the family that looks down on hemosexuality. She's mid thirties and only now coming out and to a select few of us. So her upbringing certainly didn't contribute. And as for my best friend - I knew before he did. Hell I dated him. :) Just took a while for him to figure it out himself. (more)
