Stars from two highly-anticipated movies have each spoken out about their respective projects.
Owen Wilson revealed a telling detail about the role he'll play in "Zoolander 2," and Kiefer Sutherland opened up about the rumored "24" movie. Both films are still early in development, but the
cult status of their predecessors have fans drooling for any news they can get their hands on.
Wilson played it safe when MTV asked him about "Zoolander 2," but they did manage to eek out one bit of information concerning Hansel, the male model who threatened to take Derek Zoolander's (played by Ben Stiller) coveted position as the top male
fashion model in the industry -- and it doesn't bode well for him.
"Yes, 'Twolander,'" Wilson joked with MTV. "Uh, they have a script and it's getting figured out. I can tell you where the script sees [Hansel]. It's sort of a, um... Well, actually I probably can't tell you. But Hansel, he's fallen on hard times. There's been a slight, um... There's been a disfiguring injury."
Sutherland was more candid about his "24" project, but only addressed production aspects. He didn't reveal much about the actual storyline, but did get into some detail about the flow of the movie and how they dealt (or decided not to deal) with the real-time aspect of "24."
He told The Telegraph, "We are coming very close to having a finished script. That’s been the most difficult thing. You have to remember that we have 24 hours to explain the stories in 24 and so trying to condense that into a two-hour film version has been a real shift in gear for us."
Unlike the TV series, which followed Sutherland's character in real-time as he saved the world, the movie will cover a 24 hour period in just two hours -- the time usually dedicated to just two episodes of the show.
Sutherland continued, "We were originally trying to make it too big and put too much into it – but once we relaxed, we found out how to tell that story. So yes we definitely do plan on making the film."
Executive producer Brian Grazer announced the "24" movie should come out some time in 2012 (probably later in the year), but "Zoolander 2" is scheduled for 2014 on IMDB.
