That sucks, I occasionally find videos on YouTube that won't play in the U.S., but it isn't really a common problem here. There might be legal or cost issues involved, but I could be wrong.

Because they do it to make money. They would have to pay more to stream outside of the USA, and would lose money overall due to untargeted commercials.
