Would You Want to Have Dinner With Obama and George Clooney?

You don't necessarily have to like George Clooney or President Obama to want to have dinner with them, but critics probably won't fork over a $35,800 donation for a shot. That's how much a single raffle ticket is going for in the "Obama, Clooney and You" sweepstakes, and there are only two tickets available. The winners will get to attend a high-profile May 10 gala at George Clooney's house. Barbra Streisand and Jeffrey Katzenberg are also expected to attend.

But it won't be left up to chance. The Wall Street Journal reports there will, of course, be background checks, and campaign officials will make sure the winners represent "an appropriate range of views, backgrounds, and interests." Unfortunately, that range excludes everyone who can't afford to spend $35,800 on a raffle. But let's assume for a second that money is no object. Would you want to have dinner with President Obama and George Clooney?

A lot of you star gazers don't realize it but people like George Clooney and the likes (Hollywood) are throwing you and your freedom under the bus, if you had any doubt about the unnecessary influence of Hollywood or Large Corporations have on your freedom this government this article shows it.

The President should be available to the people not because someone won a f%cking lottery on a 36,000.00 donation, can't you people see this? Or you just don't give a f^ck. To all the Hollywood types throwing your money around to influence the government, A HARDY F&CK; YOU!!!

God we need a revolution, I am sick of these political parties and their cuddling up to Hollywood and Corporations!!!

If for no other reason than the experience itself, why wouldn't someone want to take the opportunity, even if one doesn't feel these are their favorite people, to ask important questions about the country, etc?

Obama is pulling out all the stops for this election. Trying to get the woman vote with Clooney. Surprised Oprah said no to him... Then again Oprah become irrelevant when OWN showed up.

Nothing like dropping 36 large to have dinner with a lousy actor.

I don't like to mix and mingle with globalist. We do not share the same agenda. Let alone its 35 grand a plate. I rather go out on the streets and give away 35 grand than give it to these scumbag politicians.

Make the most money? Who? I do not believe that is a true statement. I think the little squirt Decaprio is the highest paid actor. Well there is only 1 President but 400k per year isn't one heckuva salary when leading a nation considering there is no job security. 8 years max... Of course some only have 4.

I believe 400k is what Obama made in 2010 as President. Even then some feel it is too much because some think they should not receive any $s. A look back at history, our 1st President did not want to be paid.

Interesting to know that his salary is that low, yet he earned 758,000. this tax cycle and paid only 20% in taxes. But our family made under 40,000 and paid 38%.

My how we are all "paying our share"

Yeah.. That fair share is bogus. Always has been.

He actually paid 34% his average tax rate. That is his total tax liability divided by taxable income. The 20% must be his marginal rate which is what each extra dollar costs.

Actually the House of Representatives does. Then the Senate rejects or approves then it goes to the Pres' desk for signature.

I do. I write my house rep about 2-3 times a month. You got anything else?

Tried, Sessions and Shelby have NO knowledge of average peoples taxes, and their tax girl (the one who knows) says it is a matter of deductions only,. He has a lot and I don't.

It is the simple fact, that Congress set the things up so that they and all their rich friends, and the dependent class pay little to no taxes, while funding the entire works on the backs of the middle class.
