Every gamer gets in that rut -- where you’ve played just about every video game you own to 100 percent completion. You’ve played all of your friends’ games as well. So, there’s just one thing left to do: swap out your old games for new ones.
But you no longer have to go to your local video game store. You can now trade games from the comfort of your own home.
Fudzilla.com has reported that the site, Playr2.com has launched a free marketplace, which is open to anyone and everyone. It allows gamers to trade their games with any other user, anywhere in the world. Having been tested for the last three months, the Playr2.com Marketplace is now running, so gamers can now sell or trade their video games online. For free.
The website carries games from all kinds of platforms -- Xbox 360, PS3, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, PC/Mac, PSP, and even PlayStation 2.
It’s fairly easy. You just have to register their details to create a free account on the site. Then all you have to do is upload whatever games you wish to sell or trade with other users. Just scan the barcode of the game via the Playr2.com mobile app or scan the barcode with a webcam. Then, the game’s information will be uploaded to the site. You can also search for the titles online and have pre-loaded information that is stored onsite.
Playr2.com’s founder, Simon Kilby said he believes it’s important that gamers should be able to sell or swap their games online, free of charge. “While there are other forums and sites that do this, we aim to make it as easy as possible for gamers by not only allowing them to do it for free but by using what we believe is simply a barcode scanner–making selling your games as simple as can be.”
Is this the end of trading games as we know it? Will stores like GameStop have real competition with Playr2.com’s marketplace? Or are video game stores here to stay?

Bill G53 ~PWCM~JLA 2011/09/23 16:44:22No+4I don't use GameStop. I buy my games and keep them. I don't buy many though. Would I trade online? No. I don't trust the other guy to send a disk that isn't broken or scratched up. I'd rather rent than trade.

Besides that, if I were a gamer, and paid for a game, then you can too.
