James Franco is getting his fingers in every pie he can find. The 33-year-old actor started out on "Freaks and Geeks," bumped up his status with "James Dean," then broke into the mainstream as the Green Goblin's son in "Spider-Man." Ten years later, the guy's hosting the Oscars, directing dance-theater, going back to school, recording an album with a drag queen, and now... he's writing a book.
Actually, it's already done and has been bought by Amazon. And it's a novel, not a memoir, though the Observer suggests the book (titled "Actors Anonymous") is a fictionalized version of his own life. It's not his first rodeo, either. Or his first book. Franco released a collection of short stories called "Palo Alto" in 2010. It got lukewarm reviews. Would you ever read a book written by James Franco?

- jabo 2012/01/12 18:53:19YesWhy not read it? It should be interesting to read about his anonymous exploits. You have to admit he has played just about every role in the book, from ancient Rome to the part of a male whore in New Orleans. He is a good actor, and much better than the flavors of the month like Matt Damon and Brad Pitt.reply

- ScoutLdr 2012/01/07 16:28:04NoNo,not again. I bought 'Palo Alto', by James Franco. I found his short stories about group of teenagers who share the same zip code, to be very derivative of so many teen angst and ennui driven novels from mid Twenty Century onwards. Done better in 'The Outsiders", by S. E. Hinton.reply
