If you like a band, would you rather listen to their albums or their concerts? I like live performances best because anyone can sound good in a studio

Cd without question. I like it when albums are well produced and sound good. I get frustrated when the sound is bad. Just personal preference of course.

Unless it's Yngwie Malmsteen, Just listening, I prefer the CD/mp3. Choosing between a CD and being there, I'd go Live.

I love to see the musicians play as well as listen. There is just something special about live music and it has a great atmosphere. But I hate when the crowd make too much noise, it's not your gig, it's the band's!!

I'm going to have to go with CD. My favourite band is extremely good live, but there's just something about the CD version. The CD version got me hooked in the first place.

This is such an unfair question. Some bands have excellent live shows and are more suited to a performance.
Other bands have such an intimate sound, complex instrumentality and/or musical concepts that wouldn't translate to a good live show.

Take for example Van Halen. Amazing live show, but somewhat boring and not well-varied albums.
Meanwhile, Fleet Foxes on the other hand, puts on a decent live show, but you're getting the same experience that would you'd get on the album, (except with marijuana).

I like the CD for the same reason you prefer the live performance - studio recorded songs do sound good. I also don't care for the crowds and everything that comes with them, the over-priced concession items, and the body odors. Parking can be a drag, too

It really depends on the band or artist, some are absolutely awful live.
But after seeing Rammstein live, I know that no other musician will ever come close their performance. Everyone else might as well give up now.

It depends on the band. Also, a cd can contain a live performance. It's just a form of data storage... Just sayin

Bands always seem to screw up a good song in live performances and then there is all that crowd noise too.

Its people like them & beiber that give Canadian bands a bad name, when there are some awesome bands from Canada (the agonist, the plasmarifle, synastry)

I know what you mean. I listen to a lot of death metal, so I love it when I find a band that sounds incredible live. I'm a bit obsessed with the agonist, and they're a band like that, but unfortunately a lot of videos of them live have terrible sound quality

It really depends. Some live performances have been legendary & some musicians sound better in the studio with the help of sound technicians. You have some musicians like lets say The Doors & Van Halen that sound outstanding live & recorded. van halen live

Usually. Saw the Rolling Stones live and they sounded like crap. I had Get Yer YaYas Out LP and it sounded great. Go figure. Saw The Sound Remains the Same and Zep sounded like crap.
Saw Iron Butterfly before their first album came out and they were HEAVY.
