Would You Pay $100 for a Midnight Showing of 'Dark Knight Rises'?

Based on a poll we took recently, "The Dark Knight Rises" isn't even the most anticipated movie of the summer. That honor belongs to "The Avengers." Still, the final film in Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy is managing to push major prices for sold out tickets to midnight showings for July 20, the day it comes out. According to MTV, tickets are selling for as much as $150 a pop.

Indeed, there are tickets being sold for upwards of $150 on eBay, but the only ticket we see with any bids on it is about $60. On craigslist, prices range from $11 to $120, though buyers might want to beware of those lower prices on craigslist. And MTV warns that Fandango is rendering resold tickets invalid, which means they might request ID at the door. But if you could guarantee you'd get away with it, would you pay $100 for a midnight showing?

all the people that say yes are either rich, stupid, or fanboys with a minimum wage job and a nerdy ass rich girlfriend. No one in their right mind would pay that much to see any movie.

This film is not reality, so why would I pay such a sum, which we are not in fantasy.

They'd have to pay me a whole lot more money than that to entice me to see any batman movie. The ones I've seen have been stupid to the hlit.

I will pay Redbox $1 in a few months to see it. If I went, my kids would want to go. With popcorn and drinks....$500. I'll wait.

I will definitely see it. But, I don't see why you'd pay so much extra to see it on opening day. The same movie will be shown tomorrow & for many days after.

If I had the hundred dollars to spare, I could see spending it on tickets to see the 'Dark Knight Rises.'

I am seeing it on midnight in IMAX. But here it only cost $14 (Which is still a lot for me, but I guess compared to other places it's pretty cheap).

I am SOOO freaking excited for this movie! The Avengers was a fun movie, even though I wasn't really waiting for it; but DKR I been waiting for this since day one, I am seriously GEEKING OUT at the fact that it's almost exactly 1 month from now!

    Geeking out GIF

BTW July 20th is my nephews 2nd B-day!

For a movie that will come out on DVD 7 months later?

Besides the way they're charging $100 will be the normal price in 6 or 7 years.

I'm currently Boycotting Hollywood for several reasons. The cost of going to movies, the over paid actors and movie makers. I also feel that many of the productions play to socialism and liberalism as the only way. I won't but if you do fine, different strokes for other folks. I.D.G.A.S.
