If the NFL turns to replacement referees this season, it will open the door for a bit of league history.
Buried deep within Sam Farmer's Los Angeles Times report on referees and the NFL squabbling is news that one of the potential replacements is a woman.

Give me a break, it doesn't take brawn in order to see two fat people grabbing each other inappropriately and toss a flag on the play.
The question at hand is not should women play in the NFL. It was talking about female referees. Your comment can only be taken in context, and since context doesn't exist in your post then it must be taken from the topic at hand, which is about female referees.
I doubt popularity would drop, Americans are into the action of football too much to care who is reffing. Although if she's cute the players might actually run into her more often. :D
lingerie football not the NFL.
I don't know... seems to me that people who like football are watching for the football players, not the referees. I could be wrong though, maybe people like seeing the guys in zebra shirts running around with yellow flags they throw at people, and a woman just wouldn't fit their fantasy of the perfect ref.
Most of that second paragraph was a joke and didn't have anything to do with the fan watching the game. I mean really, a little reading comprehension can't be too much to ask... can it?
Therefore, unless you're a politician, you can't cherry pick one sentence from a paragraph and address it as whatever you have chosen to believe it to be about.
"I doubt popularity would drop, Americans are into the action of football too much to care who is reffing. Although if she's cute the players might actually run into her more often. :D"
Now, let's look at it... at one point it says "Americans are into the action of football too much to care who is reffing". Ah, there you see it, the paragraph is about American reaction to who would be reffing. Interesting. So it just might be, then, that the next line about the players running into her more often would be if she was a ref. Come now, that's not even high school level English we're dealing with there.
I also haven't attacked your intelligence in a debate. For there to be a debate both parties have to be on the same page, and it seems we've failed that many times over.
You began saying they would ruin football, by context it must mean female refs. I doubted that.
You said you were talking about female players and "But either way, I bet popularity would drop with female refs." Again, I doubted that with "Americans are into the action of football too much to care who is reffing."
You went back to female players, but led off with "I honesty doubt that." I had figured that your rant about female football leagues was in support, somehow, of female refs (since I had not realized we had lost each other, yet again).
So there hasn't been any debate here, there's been discussion about two different topics and the condemnation of jumping to conclusions without paying attention to what's been written/said (which relates to reading comprehension).
In all honesty, I hate football. But if women want in, or even a league of their own, why stop them?
I think girls should be able to be in the NFL >: D
It's about referees.
