I buy my cds and dvds from legitimate sources. When I like an artist, I buy directly from their site. I think it is very important to support the artists we love. I am also very thankful that I have been able to do this. One of the biggest joys in my life is music. This is my way of saying thank you.

No, but then even if I were inclined to do so I wouldn't admit it on a public forum. :-)

I haven't so far. Bootlegs probably aren't of standard quality in one way or another.

I'd rather watch them for free on a boot-legging streaming site, but if it is a movie that im very interested in, i will just wait for it to come out in DVD quality on that site or i would take my happy asss to the theater and watch it

I found a copy of The Avengers on my truck stuffed under the bunk that the last driver has left. Not bad quality, but, it was funny hearing the background noise. lol

I can't do it, because as someone who use to compete in singing contests, who love music and understand some of the work it takes to get prepared, etc., it's just unfair to take money out of the artist pocket. Some may think it's okay when it's a big time successful artist but I say it's helping someone commit a crime whether you were at the scene or not.

I've gotten some boot legged movies at the asian market before. The quality wasn't the best. My father just downloads movies off the internet. Some of them were DVD quality before it actually came out on DVD lol

However, I no longer buy boot legged movies, for two reasons, 1) it's illegal, and 2) they are usually no good.

I doubt it, they are usually quite cheap in shops once they have been out for a while.

In my misspent youth, I did several things I regret now. Originality needs to be rewarded. A lot of people share the loss created by a pirated work.

I remember a friend had a bootlegged movie that was somehow recorded in a movie theater (this was back in the early-mid 90s when there were only the larger video cameras to do the recording with.) It was so odd seeing the people get in & out of their seats occasionally.
