With
"Tudors" star Henry Cavill locked in as the next Superman, rumors about who will play his Lois Lane are flying, and precariously topping the list of rumored successors is none other than
Kristen Stewart.
According to an insider at What'sPlaying, an Australian news site, Stewart's name has been tossed around Warner Bros. production offices for a couple of weeks now. However, the same insider thinks her chances are slim, given her age and how many options the young actress has on her table at the moment.
More likely contenders include "Blade: Trinity" star Jessica Biel and "Sherlock Holmes" actress Rachel McAdams. Both women are
sexy, sassy and close enough in age to Cavill, 27.
What'sPlaying also reports that Dianna Agron ("Glee") and Malin Akerman ("Watchmen") have been rumored to play Superman's love interest, but like Stewart, Agron
seems a little young for the part, though she has at least auditioned.
I think any women over 25 would be a better pick then Kristen Stewart.
plus I rather have a actress who can act not look bored all the time >.>
or
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...
Here is my cast in full of who i think should play who
http://www.comicbookmovie.com...
Originally I had Zach Levi as Superman but i like the route they went.
Superman: Cavill
I had Rachel McAdams until a month ago as Lois. Thats when I read about Wildes parents - investigative journalists. Until that point I had Wilde as Ursa. I still like McAdams but I think Wilde is perfect.
Lois: Wilde
I do have Hugh Laurie cast. Originally he was set to play Perry White in Singers film. I don't like that. And while I understand the Braniac concept I think he's better in a charming role than as a villain.
Professor Emil Hamilton: Laurie
I saw a cover once made out to look like a DC film prop Fortune magazine. The cover story involved Lex Luthor. They had cast my original pick for Joker. I loved the idea more than I liked Spacey, and I loved Spacey.
Lex Luthor: Paul Bettany
I know it would be hard considering he's playing a villain for the other company now but I think there is one perfect choice to play the body of Vril Dox until he becomes a machine at which point his voice is perfect.
Brainiac: Hugo Weaving
Weaving is one of those perfect pieces of typecast fits. He's played Megatron, Red Skull, Agent Smith - all great Sci Fi villains. And of course he's also played Elrond. So he's had his...

Brainiac: Hugo Weaving
Weaving is one of those perfect pieces of typecast fits. He's played Megatron, Red Skull, Agent Smith - all great Sci Fi villains. And of course he's also played Elrond. So he's had his hand in so many different sci-fi films that I think getting him to play in a DC movie would be great. My next piece of casting is also type casting since he's already played man and machine.
Metallo: Sam Worthington
The importance of casting both the Kents and the Els depends on how much influence they'll have in the film. Jor-El was always an important figure so his casting has always been important. I don't know how big a focus those parts will be so I'm not sure who would be best to cast. Though I'll say Emily Blunt as Lara is a fanstastic choice.
I've always twisted around over the question of Zod and the criminals. Will they run with just Zod? Will they include all three? What makes for the best story? And again it gets hard to choose who should play those roles. One actor may fit better for Zod alone while another actor may be better when played off underlings. As I said earlier I had Olivia Wilde as Ursa. Partly for her exotic look and because I believe she can play those action roles and portray the military second in command.
Whats important to me is the story and characterization. Like Dark Knight and Batman Begins I want villains that help flesh out Supermans character and don't just play an obstacle to overcome. I also want them to be believeable people. I've written a script for one film and an outline for two sequels. The way I have Luthor written is where I really think he needs to evolve to.
I think Luthor doesn't think he's evil. I think he wants to protect the city and protect mankind. The way I write him is as a selfless businessman who used his power, money and influence to be proactive during an economic downturn to help save the economy of Metropolis. The upside is that the city has a high healthy employment rate with a strong salary base. The downside is that Luthor owns so much of the city. That sort of power corrupts. While he has done good, the increased power and celeb he now wields goes to his head. When Superman comes along he's terrified because of the raw physical power Superman has. What good is money and influence and tech when this guy could come in a cut you in two with his eyes? So he develops jealousy over that power which turns into paranoia which has manifested itself into a fear/hatred of aliens. He sees Superman as an advance force of some Alien threat. If thats not even the case then he knows other alien threats are out there. Luthor sort of serves as a critical analysis of the bad parts of both modern US ideologies. He's centralized a lot of power to help people but he controls there lives, and he has an isolationist view toward alien life out of fear. And the thing is both actions aren't entirely wrong. As we see, Zod attacks in one film and Brainiac in another. Alien threats are real. They just aren't universal. And his rise to power did help make the city better. But he refused to give up some of his power once the problems abated. All of this contrasts Superman who serves as the positive side of both ideologies.
And Laurie could and has done charming, but i'm yet to see him as a real, intellectual, and EVIL antagonist, and him as brainiac gives me chills and while Hamilton makes sence, its not a big enough role for him.
Sam as Metallo makes alot of sence, but it'll seem like "Marcus Wright from Terminator, vs. Superman."
Hugo as Brainiac is beyond perfect, but like you said, he's PLAYING red skull in a Marvel film, and he cannot play both the main villain Brainiac and Red Skull.
my opinion.
